Last week, Cambie Design flew down to NYC for the opening weekend of NYCxDESIGN. We spent four days, adventuring through Manhattan and Brooklyn falling in even more love with the city, if possible. We would like to share some photos and highlights of the short trip: We attended the Collective .1 Design Fair in Hudson River Park's historical Pier 57. Collective .1 offered an eclectic presentation of 25 exhibitors showcasing designers (established and young) from across the world. The living room display and light fixtures were a couple of our favourites. We had to snap a photo of the phenomenal design at the Standard High Line NYC, where we enjoyed Friday afternoon cocktails in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan and felt like true New Yorkers, and made sure to visit The High Line which was certainly a treat in such a bustling city. A personal favourite was definitely the time we spent in Williamsburg and Dumbo in Brooklyn. We strolled the streets, visited the Brooklyn Flea and met talented designers at BKLYN DESIGNS. We were in awe of our surroundings, particularly the view, having the Manhattan skyline by our side the entire time. Finally, we were extremely lucky to have stayed with one of the coolest guys we could have asked to meet, a graphic designer in Brooklyn whom we found through Airbnb. This was our first experience and couldn't have asked for a more helpful host. His home was filled with treasures and collections, including this assortment of letterblocks. It has been very difficult getting back into work this week, spending far too much time daydreaming about our escape. Luckily, we have returned to Toronto refreshed, inspired and ready to tackle whatever comes our way! NOTE: All of the images above were taken through Cambie Design's Instagram account.
