Behind the Scenes: Creating Our 2020 Holiday Collection
Every holiday season, we choose to lead our planning with our ethos of gifting mindfully, which is an opportunity for us to carefully curate pieces for the shop that encourage others to celebrate the rituals of the season with intention, thoughtfulness, and appreciation. Despite a challenging year, this season would be no exception. We designed a special batch of blankets and curated a special assemblage of one-of-a kind vintage pieces and popular handcrafted shop favourites just for you and your loved ones.
As this is our first year without a brick and mortar storefront, we want to share a quick glimpse into the process of designing our 2020 Holiday Collection and hope you enjoy!

As with all of our special collections, the concept for this year's Cambie Holiday Collection grew from a reflection of what feels the most relevant and resonates most deeply within us. When considering the creative direction for this collection, we reflected on a theme that has presented itself throughout this unique year: finding comfort at home. During the first stage of planning, we aimed to honour the sentiment of resilience with intentions for a brighter future, and looked to evoke this through finding inspiration in what already surrounds us.
The Collection
The Cambie Blanket has become known by its owners and givers as a generous token of comfort and warmth, so we decided to start there, and chose three new colours to represent our intentions for the world in the new year:
Juniper: the juniper tree's frosty blue berries, for plentiful bursts of joy, even through rough conditions.
Oro: the Spanish word for "gold", for abundance and prosperity in all areas of life.
Fir: a hearty evergreen, for growth through every season.
In the spirit of sustainability, we knew we wanted to offer options that are small batch and made to order, repurposed, one-of-a-kind, and versatile so, in addition to our blankets, we curated a selection of smaller gifts, including locally handcrafted goods and vintage pieces, which we spent the second half of this year carefully sourcing with our holiday colour palette in mind.
